The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid is the latest vehicle to join the company’s growing lineup of electrified vehicles and is more affordable than ever with its new lower starting price. The new Accord Hybrid offers class-leading power, cabin space and cargo space, in addition to its premium features and comfortable interior.
There are five trim levels available to meet the needs of different drivers: Hybrid, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, dual-zone climate control, multi-angle rearview camera and the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies.
The 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid is powered by a third-generation two-motor hybrid system, which uses a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine and an electric propulsion motor. The system produces a total of 212 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque and operates without the need for a conventional automatic transmission.
Three distinct driving modes are used to operate the Accord Hybrid efficiently: EV Drive which uses 100-percent electric motor, Hybrid Drive which uses the electric motor and gasoline engine to drive the generator motor, and Engine Drive which uses power from the gas engine and electric motors during certain driving conditions.
Drivers can also use steering wheel-mounted Deceleration Selectors to maximize energy generation. These paddles allow the driver to switch between four levels of regenerative braking performance, which reduces conventional brake use and increases battery charging.
